Fall Season Overview

Program Objectives

• Have fun
• Learn basic soccer fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and using feet instead of hands.
• Good sportsmanship and develop self-confidence.
• No tryouts and no players are cut.
• All registered and paid players will be on a team.

Fee

• 5/6U Boys/Girls - $65 registration fee
• 7/8U Boys/Girls - $90 registration fee
• 9/10U Boys/Girls - $145 registration fee
  * A fee is added for late registration. Late registration acceptance depends on roster space in the appropriate age group.

Practices

• 5/6U: On Sunday consisting of a 15-minute practice session followed by a game. Practices and games are held at Good Shepherd Fields in North Mankato (next to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church). 
• 7/8U: Practice on Tuesday evenings at Good Shepherd Fields in North Mankato (next to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church). 
• 9/10U One practice each week on Tuesday evening at the Caswell North Complex. Time is set by Hisham Sorour, the club's director of coaching.Practice times will be added to PlayMetrics once confirmed.

Fall Practice Dates

• Practice for U5/6 starts with the first game and continues each Sunday before games.
• Practice for U7/8 are on Tuesday evenings and starts the week of the first game.
• Practice for U9/10 starts the week of the first game. Specific day/time depends on number of teams since teams share the practice fields with the competitive U9 and U10 teams.

Game Times

• Girls 5/6U = 4:30 pm
• Boys 5/6U = 5:45 pm

• Girls 7/8U = 5:45 pm

• Girls 9/10U = 4:30 pm
• Boys 9/10U = 5:45 pm

Game Format

• 5/6U: 3v3 with no goalie. Games are two 15-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time.
• 7/8U: 4v4 with no goalie. Games are two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time.
• 9/10U: 7v7 with goalie; 6 field players and 1 goalie. Games are two 25-minute halves with a 5-minute half-time. All game rules for 9/10U teams apply. 

Uniforms

• Rec uniforms consist of a green shirt and a white shirt, shorts, and soccer socks.
• Shin guards, gym shoes or soccer cleats, a size-3 soccer ball for 5/6U and 7/8U, a size-4 soccer ball for 9/10U, and a water bottle. 
• There is an OPTIONAL rec uniform available to purchase. Purchasing information can be found below.
• Home is the green jersey; Away is the white jersey.

Team Formation Guidelines

1. Players are placed on teams by school they attend.
2. Mankato United will try to place a player with at least one other player from the same school.
3. Schools with large number of players may have players placed on different teams.
4. All practice and games are at Good Shepherd Fields and Caswell Soccer Complex in North Mankato (parents can still coordinate car pools with players on different teams since everyone is at the same site).
5. Requests for team/coach placement based on a medical condition ONLY will be taken into consideration. Please send medical-condition requests to staff@mankatounited.org
