Player Development


  1. Manage MUSC player evaluation process annually.
  2. Arrange for the evaluators, produce and distribute information about the evaluation protocols to surrounding communities.
  3. Incorporate coach’s evaluations into the player evaluation process to create a more comprehensive assessment of each individual player.
  4. Make recommendations to the Development Committee and Vice President of League Play in the team formation process.
  5. Identify and recommend coaching assignments in collaboration with the Development Committee and Vice President of League Play.
  6. Direct preseason orientation meetings with all coaches and team managers.
  7. Organize coaching clinics to develop coaches and facilitate licensure.
  8. Develop, coordinate or conduct internal training opportunities for MUSC players
  9. On a regular basis train, educate, and assess coaches and their teams.
  10. Evaluate each team and coach on a regularly basis.
  11. Oversee consistent and regular player evaluation and feedback by team coaches.
  12. Establish a program to expose players to college recruiting process.
  13. Develop, coordinate or conduct in-house training opportunities for MUSC players.


General Administrative



  1. Ensure club programming is designed to benefit the majority of Mankato United players and are aligned with Club’s philosophy and mission statements.
  2. It is the responsibility of the DOC to establish and document written guidelines for safe and well organized practice sessions that will enable all players to develop and improve their skills.
  3. It is the responsibility of the DOC to promote fair play and good sportsmanship.
  4. Develop and implement age group curriculums for U5-U19 (Developmental Academy & Competitive).
  5. Develop and implement goalkeeper curriculum.
  6. Develop and implement a consistent style of play across all age groups.
  7. Develop a working relationship with Connecting Kids to ensure expectations of player commitment to their team and the special needs of individual players are compatible.
  8. Return all e-mails and phone calls in a timely manner (expected standard is within a 24-hour period..

HISHAM SOROUR

PROFILE 


Hisham is embarking on his 5th year with Mankato United. A native Egyptian with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, he also boasts playing experience in the D2 Egyptian professional league. Hisham holds the UEFA A License, as well as the NSCAA Primer Diploma, C, and Youth National licenses from USSF, both the Asian Football Federation, and the African Football Federation B license. Previously, he was an elementary school physical education teacher with the Chaska School District. And back in Egypt. 


With more than 30 years of coaching experience, ranging from grassroots to professional levels, Hisham's journey has been extensive. He spent a decade coaching in the UAE with the prestigious Al Ain Football Club, where he began as the head coach for the under 19 Academy team. He later advanced to become the Technical Director for the football school, responsible for selecting top talents within the county to join the club and ensuring their preparedness to become future professional 1st team football players. Following three and a half years as head of the football school, he was promoted to lead the club's professional team as the Head of Performance and Assistant Head Coach, working alongside Coach Zlatko Dalic, who now heads the Croatia national team.


Over the course of four years with the team, Hisham accumulated more than 120 professional games across various local competitions and Champions League matches. Among his proudest achievements were securing 5 major trophies with the team and reaching both the Champions League final and semi-final within 3 years. 


Before his tenure in the UAE, he served as the Assistant Director of Coaching for Coach Wayne Harrison, the founder of Soccer Awareness, at the Eden Prairie Soccer Club. He coached top premier boys and girls teams and held the position of Head Coach at Chaska High School, earning the Coach of the Year accolade in 2007. Hisham was also involved with the ODP program for MN.. Prior to that, he coached youth to 1st team players at the Alexandria Sporting Club in Egypt. 


His role as an assistant coach afforded him the opportunity to observe and learn from experienced managers at top European clubs. He also had the chance to study youth development practices at esteemed academies like Inter Milan (Italy), Newcastle United, Manchester City, Aston Villa (England), and Valencia (Spain). 


Drawing from a wealth of coaching experience spanning from developing youth players to coaching top-tier professionals and national teams, Hisham crafted his coaching methodology known as the "Modern Soccer School." This approach centers on equipping players with the skills and decision-making abilities required for high-performance levels, a philosophy he has implemented with Mankato players over the past four years.
