Competitive Team Commitments

Playing competitive soccer has several components to the financial commitment. Once a player is registered to play on a competitive team, the parents of the players are responsible for the required fees set forth below.

CLUB FEES (Required)

  • Club fees include MYSA league fees, referee fees, training fees, administrative expenses, field & maintenance expenses, insurance expenses, and other overhead expenses necessary to operate and maintain the organization.
  • Financial assistance is available for Club Fees only (does not apply to Team Fees) on a needs-based basis to the extent funds are available through Connecting Kids.

Uniform Kit (Required)

  • Every player is responsible for purchasing the traveling uniform kit during the active 2-year uniform kit cycle (current cycle is 2023-2024). The kit includes 2 game jerseys, 1 game shorts, 1 pair of game socks. Purchase the uniform package on our Store page.

Team Fees (Required)

Collected by the team manager via cash, check, or money order.

  • Team fees are the player's portion of the budget for the team to operate for the season. Each team has a budget calculated based on that team’s tournament schedule, team events, and miscellaneous fees. The coach and team manager will work to determine the schedule and develop the budget, which will then be submitted to the club’s administrative team.
  • All players are responsible for paying the full team fee budgeted amount. If a player cannot attend a tournament game that he/she is scheduled to play in, he/she is still responsible for the associated costs.
  • Failure to pay team fees can result in player suspension.
  • Team fees are non-refundable unless determined differently by the club administration.

Volunteer Requirement

  • Each family is required to volunteer 6 hours per registered player per year.
  • Any player’s parents who opt out of working these hours can pay the $150 opt-out fee per registered player per year.
  • Paid directly to the club.
  • See our Volunteer Policy.

Commitment Expectations

Sports leagues with different levels require varying levels of commitment and practice. A commitment to training and games is expected when your child is evaluated and placed on a competitive team. Soccer is a team sport that requires a team commitment. If your player or family cannot commit, playing on a team with a lower commitment level may be a more appropriate decision for the player, family, and team.
